Mobile, AL 36607
WHAT: Gulf Distributing Company of Mobile donated $15,000.00 Friday to the Boys and Girls Club of South Alabama. The funding will go directly towards a project beginning Monday to reroof the Semmes and Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club facilities. Gulf Distributing Company of Mobile, LLC became involved with the Boys and Girls Club through TenSixtyFive and their own close relationship with current Boys and Girls Club Contributor and fellowTenSixtyFive sponsor, Wind Creek Hospitality. Elliot B. Maisel, Chairman and CEO of Gulf Distributing decided to donate to the Boys and Girls Club after learning about their organization from Wind Creek’s Vice President of Corporate Marketing, Michael Perhaes. "Michael asked us for our help to reroof these 2 facilities” said Maisel. "Boys and Girls Club needed $30,000 to complete the project so we came together during TenSixtyFive and each of us made the necessary donation.”
The Boys and Girls Club of South Alabama operates 6 clubs in and around Mobile. They offer after school programs and summer programs for youths ages 6 to 16. Their vision is to provide a safe, positive environment for children that is also fun, supportive, creates opportunity and provides recognition.
